Book Giveaway: Day Number Six

Crocheted Sweaters by Susan Huxley.  From the back cover:  You can create stylish, up-to-date crocheted sweaters, even if you've never held a crochet hook before!  Learn a few basic crochet stitches step by step, and then combine them in innovative ways for sensational sweaters--most designed especially with beginners in mind.

The reason I'm giving this book away is pretty much the same reason I'm giving the knitting book away--although I would truly love to make crocheted sweaters, learning to do it would take too much time away from quilting.

I know there are some crocheters (is that a word?) among us (Marg), so leave a comment to enter the drawing for this book.

And if you're just now coming to the eight days of book giveaways, it's not too late to check out the books from previous five days.  The giveaways will close at noon (Pacific Standard Time) on September 7th and winners will be announced September 8th.

  1. This book intrigues me. Never thought of doing crochet, but I remember having a crochet sweater before, and loved it to pieces. Maybe making my own would be awesome!

  2. Crochet is beyond me. It's one of the things that I've accepted as my lot in life.

However if the lucky recipient of this book wants to crochet me a sweater well that's completely different.

Good luck to all who enter.

I was kidding about crocheting me a sweater...seriously.

  3. I'd love to learn more crocheting - pls count me in for the draw. Years ago I crocheted a pair of potholders, and in my teens I crocheted a turquoise sweater - loved it to pieces, but I don't know if it was because it was crocheted - or the color! :))

  4. I've never thought about crocheting a sweater before. I've always thought about knitting them, but that is daunting to me since I hate checking guage, but maybe crocheting would be easier. Maybe.

  5. I love crocheting, but like you, I don't have time to do it and quilt too, so I quilt! But it looks like a fabulous book!

  7. This looks like a great book, BUT, I live somewhere where I would never wear a crochet sweater,it's too warm, so unless I decide I could crochet lots of sweaters for General PJ's., please count me out today. Thanks again Michelle.
Not sure whether crocheter is a word but it sounds pretty good to me.

  8. I've never held a crochet hook before. Well, maybe if my mother asked me to pass it to her. I find that statement suspicious, despite the fact that I wouldn't mind knitting my own sweaters.

All of a sudden I feel like Sylvester Stallone's character in DEMOLITION MAN.
