I can't believe how quickly Friday has rolled around again. But that means only one thing: Favorite Things Friday with Mrs. P. at Quilting in My Pyjamas.
My favorite this week is the time I spent with my young cousin. She is nine. We both have a penchant for nail polish. Neither of us are real girlie girls, except about our nails. This afternoon, she introduced me to Crackle Overcoat. Hers are the black with white crackle and mine are pink with white crackle.
I'm not sure Crackle itself will ever become a favorite of mine, but it sure was fun to do it with her. It is always the small moments in life that mean the most.

Rather blurry picture taken with my cell phone. Apologies. |

A lovely thing to do and I am sure your little cousin will treasure this memory you made.
ReplyDeleteYour nails kind of remind me of ribbon candy. Or candy canes. I think they are very festive. I love to paint my toes, but I'm not very patient when it comes to my fingers. My hands always have to be busy and waiting for the paint to dry is counter-productive. And it is frustrating when the paint chips or peels after only a day or two.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, your nails are really pretty and I think it is really neat that the two of you have fun doing your nails together.

That's a coincidence, I was just looking at crackle nail polish yesterday and debating whether to buy it. I rarely wear nail polish on my fingers so decided against it. It does look so cool though.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen this polish, will have to look out for it. I used to always have my nails painted and still have a large collection of polish but am a lot lazier these days.
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that! And a fun way to spend time together. I like both colors!
ReplyDeleteVery creative! And those are the moments that girls will remember when they are much older-painting fingernails with my older cousin.
ReplyDeleteI love that crackle nail polish (especially the pink) I love nail decals too and Miss P is going to do some for me soon. (so she says )
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a fun time being girly for a while. (Im not girly either !)
Cool! I have stopped wearing nail polish, no point as I do quite some gardening and the nail polish never last! :)
ReplyDeleteYour camera phone probably has a "close-up" setting which would better bring objects under two feet away in focus.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the crackle! I'm a girlie-girl, except for the nails; however, with all the new nail polishes, I just might convert. LittleGirl is about the same age as your cousin, and she loves to have her nails done. Daddy usually paints them for her, as he has more patience than I do with that kind of thing. ☺ Fabulous favourite! Happy FTF! ☺
ReplyDeleteoooh - i think that's the first time i've seen the distressed look on nails - i don't look after mine very well so i'm not up to the lastest trends in nail varnish - very edgy!
ReplyDeleteGosh that photo is really scary at 7 oclock in the morning when you're not wearing your glasses! The fingers look, well, not attached to anything!
ReplyDeleteMy nail varnish always looks cracked - does that count?
I'm not a big fan of the crackle, but your nails look great. what a fun time with you niece!
