If you recall my last post, I was lamenting the gray, winter weather. Whining apparently pays off. My Texas cousins came and instituted a rescue. Sunshine, fun, and the occasional margarita are all to be found just 6 hours south of Newton. Balm for a droopy soul.
Unfortunately, the joy was short-lived. My 88 year old grandfather has been hospitalized with an increasingly dire prognosis. He is scheduled for surgery tomorrow. How this all turns out is anybody's guess. The events leading us to this point are akin to a slow motion car wreck.
My apologies for disappearing and not keeping up with your blogs. Unfortunately, I don't expect that situation to change anytime in the near future. Hope you are all doing well.

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather - I'll keep him and your whole family in my prayers! Let me know if there's anything I can do to help!
ReplyDeleteMichelle, I've missed you. I was hoping that the weather wasn't getting you too down. I'm glad you got a bit of sunshine.
ReplyDeleteAside from all that I'm very sorry about your grandpa. It is hard to watch the ones we love suffer with age and ill health. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Don't worry about us while you're gone. Just take care of yourself. And we'll be waiting when you get back. Let me know if I can do anything.

Oh my! Hope all goes well with your grandfather. It sounds like this winter weather isn't going to let up anytime soon. Keep cozy and take care of yourself!
ReplyDeleteAll the best to your grandfather, I hope it all goes well! Good for you your Texas cousin came to visit. Michelle, take good care, and don't worry about MIA for awhile - we all understand.

ReplyDeleteIts been a whirlwind couple of trips to Newton and back.
ReplyDeleteI'd do it all over again in a New York minute.
I love you.
SO sorry to hear about your grandfather, don't worry about trying to keep up with blogging, we miss you but totally understand.
ReplyDeleteI would gladly send you lots of sunshine, as we have had quite a bit lately after all that rain. Unfortunately north of here, a very long way north, almost 900 miles from where I live north of Brisbane, is at the moment suffering from a cyclone that will rival Katrina. So I haven't been reading blogs either as have been following what has been happening with that.
Hope you get lots of sunshine, more trips to Texas and your grandfather has a good prognosis from his operation.
Lots of hugs :)
Hey friend! Was just thinking about you and decided to pop over and say, "Hey!" (((HUGS)))
ReplyDeleteTake care Michelle! Hope the new move is well and miss you! Praying for you and the fam. *hugs* We'll be here. :)
